The Main Event

The Main Event is our annual fundraiser, designed to provide support for a variety of development initiatives each year. The Montessori School is a non-profit; tuition is used to pay our staff and maintain the building and classrooms. Anything extra goes right back into the program to provide new opportunities to our students and staff. The Main Event allows us to be able to purchase new materials, outdoor equipment, provide professional development opportunities for our staff, and support our tuition assistance program.

Each year parents, alumni families, faculty and staff, and friends of The Montessori School join in a night of food, drinks and fun! This is a fun night to bring a group of friends, grandparents, and neighbors – it is not limited to Montessori families!

At the Event

Staff Experience/Classroom Project Silent Auction: bid on unique experiences offered by dedicated teachers and staff and classroom projects created by our very own Montessori students.

Silent Auction: bid on merchandise, services and certificates donated by generous local business owners and organizations. Starting bids range from $10 and up.

Live Auction: warm up your bidding paddles for these amazing experiences.

50/50 Raffle: purchase a ticket(s) to be entered to win! 50% of the raffle funds are awarded to The Montessori School and 50% of the funds are distributed to the winning ticket. Winner need not be present to win. Last year’s winner received over $5,100!

Giving Tree: purchase classroom wish-list items.

Beer Growler/Wine Pull: purchase a ticket to “pull” a growler or bottle from a blinded collection of beers and wines.

Our 2019 Event Was a Great Success! Thank You!

The theme for 2019 was “İFiesta!” to commemorate the launch of the Spanish bilingual program in the Richland primary, and celebrate the unique educational experiences available at The Montessori School. Guests enjoyed live entertainment featuring the Lakeside Rumberos and a Spanish-inspired hors d’oeuvres and drink menu.

The numbers are in and we are happy to report that The Main Event raised over $20,000 for the school this year! The staff have already started planning additions to our classrooms and outdoor environment for next year. Our staff was able to enjoy professional development conferences in Minnesota, Washington D.C., and Louisiana this year — The Main Event will help us support more great educational opportunities for our staff in the coming year. The funds we raised will also go towards our dedicated $30,000 budget for Tuition Assistance. We do our best to make sure that if a family really wants an authentic Montessori education, that we can support them in making it happen.
