Head of School

Photo UnavailablePamela Boudreau is the founder of The Montessori School. She has served as its Head since its inception in 1972. Pam will be retiring as Head of School at the end of this school year. She attended the Art Institute of Chicago, and she holds a bachelor’s degree in art education and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Western Michigan University. Pam completed her Montessori training at the Ohio Montessori Training Institute.

Photo UnavailableJudy Hill will co-lead the school this year with our founder, Pam Boudreau. She graduated magna cum laude from Siena Heights College with a bachelor’s degree in social work.. She completed her Montessori training at the Atlanta Montessori Institute. Judy joined our staff in 1978. Judy will assume full leadership of the school in the summer of 2011. In preparation for her leadership role, she has completed the Administration/Governance Seminar at the Montessori Institute of Professional Studies and the North American Montessori Teacher’s Association’s Montessori Whole School Management: Professional Development Course for Administrators.

Photo UnavailableMary Beyronneau – Primary 1 graduated magna cum laude from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in French and teaching certificates in secondary education and special education. She has a master’s degree in early childhood education from Siena Heights University. Mary received her Montessori training at the Southern Montessori Institute in Miami, Florida. She joined our staff in 1982.

Elementary Head Teachers
Photo UnavailableKarin Larsen - Elementary 1 Karin joins our staff this year after a long interest in Montessori education. She has been teaching for fourteen years and brings a rich background in creative writing, science and leadership. She completed a B.S. in elementary education at WMU and an MA in education t Marygrove University. She received her training at the North American Montessori Center and the Montessori Institute for Professional Studies.

She completed her Montessori training at the Washington Montessori Institute and has a master's degree in Montessori education from Loyola University in Baltimore. Jocelyn has been a member of our staff in various capacities since 1991 and became one of our elementary teachers in 1997.

Business Office:

She graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree and later went on to earn a Master’s of Business Administration from Western Michigan University. Photo UnavailableDonna Anderson - Office Coordinator Donna holds an associate degree in Business Administration from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She has also taken classes at WMU in Business Management. Donna worked at Pharmacia for 20 years prior to joining our staff in 2003. Her primary responsibilities include admissions, records management and communication. Donna can be reached at donna@themontessorischool.org





Barbara Jean - Accounting Clerk Barbara works part time in the Kalamazoo office. She joined the staff in 2008. Her responsibilities include accounts payable, child care billing, and other receivables related tasks. Barbara holds an associate degree in Applied Sciences and has taken many courses in business and accounting.



Photo UnavailableMarie Leaver - Richland Office Clerk Marie holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and later took many courses in business administration at Western Michigan University. She joined our staff after 20 years in management at Gast Manufacturing. Marie’s responsibilities include records management, child care billing and other administrative tasks.
